Yuka Kasai

Q. Why did you join the company and what was your career path after joining?

After graduating from junior college, I worked as a clerk at the central wholesale market in Osaka from the age of 19. At that time, I joined the same company as the president, who had come to the same company for training, and we met. We got married and moved to Aomori at the age of 22. As soon as I came to Aomori, I joined this company.

Q. What are the difficulties, rewards and interesting aspects of your job?

One of the changes we have made over the past 3 years is that we have begun interviewing all employees and part-timers. Although not everyone will speak their true feelings at these interviews, we have started to reflect them in our efforts as a company while gaining a better understanding of the true feelings of our employees. As long as people gather and work together, various problems will arise, but I would like to make the company a more comfortable place to work by approaching solutions one by one.

Q. What are your future goals and what do you want to do?

Specifically, we are working on updating our work rules. We would like to focus our efforts on creating an environment that is more comfortable for everyone working for our company and that allows them to be active for a longer period of time.

Q. What made you decide to join the company and what kind of career have you had since joining?

I’ve been with the company for 4 full years. My previous jobs included hospital administration work and telephone operator work for a mail-order company dealing with carpentry tools. I changed jobs because I wanted an environment where I could utilise my skills in clerical work and customer service over the phone, while also working as an employee and raising three children at the same time.

This is the first time I have had to deal with accounting since I joined the company, but I feel as though I am finally getting to grips with it. There were many things I didn’t understand at first, but it was an enjoyable experience as I got to know a world that was unknown to me.

Now, in addition to my duties at Marzin Sun Apple, I am also responsible for the accounting of the Hiraga Apple Commercial Association, and I am in charge of the accounting of both. I am now able to control both within myself.

All the members in the office are kind, so when I face any challenges, they think together about how we can solve them and find ways to improve together. It is with these people that I have made it this far.

Q. What are the difficulties, rewards and interesting aspects of your job?

As expected, the first year in the company was difficult. Especially during the busy season in autumn. At the time, it also coincided with my daughter’s hospitalisation… but I still managed to get through it with the help of everyone and my family.

Now my children are in 5, age birth=”20210401″] and age birth=”20220401″] grade. They understand that their mother’s work gets busier in autumn. So during the busy season, I have a system where I go home first in the evening to have a meal, and then the children alone take a bath and wait for my husband to return. We have also introduced cooking appliances this year, which has made it easier for us to get through.

My family works hard together and the children are definitely growing up. I don’t know how the children will see the back of a working mother, but I hope I can show them a good back.

Q. What are your future goals and what do you want to work on?

I think it’s fun that as a company we have a lot of different projects going on at the moment. I like working on things I’ve never done before, so I feel that I would like to be involved in some way. Product development, for example, looks particularly fun as I see it visibly transformed from a prototype into a product.

At the moment, I’m just busy running the tasks I’m entrusted with, but eventually I’d like to be involved in such projects.

Q. What made you decide to join the company and what kind of career have you had since joining?

I’ve been with the company for 5 years.I had previously worked as a clerical worker for another company, doing clerical work related to e-commerce sites, shipping, and customer service, so I thought I could make use of that experience as well and changed jobs. I have been with the company for exactly three years now.

Q. What are the difficulties, rewards and interesting aspects of your job?

There were various difficulties, but I think I am still at a point in my life where I have hit a wall and am gradually beginning to overcome it. I had been entrusted with the task of coming up with a sales promotion campaign for the e-commerce site we operate, but I was having a hard time getting the project off the ground. Everyone around me noticed that I was not making progress and asked me if I was okay.

Even so, I was still pulled down by the thought that since I was the one in charge, I had to do it myself, and I could not easily ask for help. However, when I boldly asked for help, everyone worked together with me to come up with a plan, and we were able to create a project.

From now on, I will continue to speak up first and not keep things to myself. Based on this experience, I am determined to work even harder.

Q. What are your future goals and what do you want to work on?

First of all, I will work on what is in front of me one thing at a time.
